Mothers’ Club Souvenir Booklet – 1982
“MOTHER OF THE YEAR” is a souvenir booklet produced by Mrs. Nora Dorsett in 1985. The proceeds from the book sales were used to further the various projects and causes of the establishment.
Both The Mothers’ Club and The Young Women’s Christian Association of The Bahamas were founded by Frances Manester Butler, mother of the late Sir Milo Butler. The inside contents of the book feature the biographies of many of our deceased YWCA members: Mother Frances Butler, Violet Chase, Mother Mildred Donaldson, Dora Sands, Agnes Archer, Leona Aurelia Hanna and Amelia Cooper among many others.

YWCA of The Bahamas/ YWCA of Rwanda Trade Initiative- 2011
In 2010, The Bahamas YWCA commenced a trade venture with the YWCA of Rwanda when it received a shipment of arts and crafts from that association. The YWCA of Rwanda was established in 1994 in response to the genocide which left countless widows and orphans in its wake. The revenue from the craft helps these persons to take care of their families, pay school fees and obtain supplementary food and medical supplies. To date a contribution of $500:00 from the YWCA of The Bahamas and an anonymous donation of $200:00 has been sent to the YWCA of Rwanda
